SWANS SPORTS CLUB is proud to stand at the forefront of change with the launch of the G.I.R.L.S Against GBV initiative, a groundbreaking project that harnesses the power of rugby to empower and protect our youth. Over the next three years, this transformative program will reach 10,000 girls and boys aged 12–18 years across Wakiso District and surrounding areas, building confidence, leadership, and resilience while tackling gender-based violence (GBV) head-on.

With support from Olympic Solidarity through the Uganda Olympic Committee, and in partnership with the Uganda Rugby Union, we are committed to creating safer, more inclusive environments in 50 schools. Rugby is more than a game here, it’s a tool for empowerment, equality, and community transformation.

Key Highlight

  • - Empowerment: Training coaches and mentors, with a strong emphasis on female leadership.
  • - Engagement: Monthly workshops on life skills and GBV awareness for students.
  • - Community Involvement: Parents and community leaders actively engaged for collective action.

  • Together, we are saying NO to violence and YES to equality! At SWANS SPORTS CLUB, we believe rugby can break barriers, inspire courage, and unite communities. This project is more than an initiative, it’s a movement to build a stronger, safer future for our next generation of leaders.
